Parents in a dyslexia friendly school should be kept up to date with special need events and information. This can be done in the form of letters, leaflets, text messages or school website. Parents should also be introduced to the Parent Partnership Service (see parent section).

Coffee mornings /afternoons, assemblies and workshops are also great to help raise parent awareness of dyslexia and childrens' learning needs. IEPs should be reviewed regularly  (where possible with parents present) and copies should be sent home. Parents are an essential part of a child's learning success, and it is very important for schools to build a good relationship with parents.
